Cold brew coffee has moved from a café novelty to a daily routine for many. It’s prized for its naturally smooth, low-acid profile and rich, concentrated flavour. For coffee enthusiasts looking to replicate that quality at home without the mess or the constant wait, we want to highlight an exceptionally smart piece of equipment: the Shelbru Cold Brew System 2.0.

What Makes the Shelbru System Unique?
Unlike standard single-jar brewers, the Shelbru system was engineered to solve the two biggest frustrations of home cold brew: the long wait time and the clean-up.
The Continuous Supply Solution: The key feature of the Shelbru is its innovative two-piece design (a dedicated Brewer and a separate Carafe). Users can be actively brewing a new batch in one borosilicate glass jar while storing, serving, and enjoying the finished concentrate from the other. You never run out of cold brew concentrate again—simply swap the lids and start the next batch!
A Truly Sediment-Free Brew: The quality of the filter is crucial for clean cold brew. Shelbru utilises a patented Dual Stainless Steel Filter (500µm outer / 600 mesh inner). This double-layer filtration system is incredibly effective at trapping fine coffee particles, resulting in a clean, smooth, and grit-free concentrate that tastes professional.
High Yield & Efficiency: One batch in the Shelbru produces approximately 500ml of cold brew concentrate. This high concentration is designed to be diluted, easily yielding up to 12 servings of prepared cold brew, making it an efficient and economical way to enjoy daily coffee.
Designed for Daily Use: Constructed from durable, lead-free borosilicate glass and food-grade stainless steel, the components are built for longevity. When a batch is finished, clean-up is simple: all parts are dishwasher-safe.

Recipe Spotlight: Making the Standard Shelbru Concentrate
The Shelbru system is easy to use, and following this simple ratio ensures a perfectly balanced concentrate that can be customised with water, milk, or flavourings.
Ingredient | Recommendation | Rationale |
Coffee | 100g (approx. 3.5oz) | Use a coarse grind, similar to sea salt. This prevents over-extraction and clogging. |
Water | 700ml (to the max line) | Always use filtered, cold, or room-temperature water for the cleanest flavour profile. |
Brew Time | 12 to 24 hours | A longer steep time (18-24 hours) results in a bolder concentrate, while 12 hours offers a lighter profile. Experimentation is encouraged! |

Simple Steps for Smooth Cold Brew
Prep: Place 100g of coarse-ground coffee into the Dual-Filter basket.
Brew: Insert the filter into one carafe and fill with 700ml of water. Seal with the lid.
Steep: Let the mixture steep for your desired time (12–24 hours) either on the counter or in the refrigerator.
Finish: Once complete, lift out the filter, discard the wet grounds, and swap the brewing lid with the easy-pour spout lid.
Dilute & Enjoy! The resulting concentrate is powerful. We recommend a starting ratio of 1 part concentrate to 4 parts water or milk.
